Your skin barrier is damaged (feels itchy and tight, looks grainy and scaly)
This routine address your skin condition & is adapted to your skin type. Fine tune by adding the age related product at the end.
Lets talk about your skin
Repairing a damaged barrier is the first step towards healthy skin, because adding several active treatments to irritated skin can make things worse.
First let's evaluate why your skin barrier is impaired:
- Over washing
- Strong exfoliating acids
- Retinoids.
- Scrubs.
- Multiple active serums.
- Fragranced products if they cause irritation.
Temporary avoid and try an my "bland regimen"
In France we like a simple routine and focus on less is more. As a French esthetician and cosmetic chemist, I would like to recommend these products and share few tips for a healthy, glowing skin. Helene
AM: wipe face with toner (Tip: do not cleanse, your skin did not get dirty while you were sleeping and over cleansing dehydrates the skin).
Apply serum then day cream (except if your skin is oily).
Finish with sunscreen then makeup.
PMPM: use cleanser (it is important to remove sunscreen, pollution, from your skin before you go to bed) if you are pressed by time use a micellar water.
Apply serum then night cream (can be the same as your day cream)
Once a weekOnce a week treat yourself to a home facial:
On a clean skin exfoliate, leave mask on for 5-8 minutes, rinse and continue with am or pm routine.
